Michelle Harrison is a by-costal “southern lady” originally from Southern California, she has lived in Atlanta, GA for twenty plus years. Michelle equally has over twenty plus years of national and international experience as a planner in the event and hospitality industry. Her hospitality career began at Nordstrom Inc. as a personal shopper. She credits her time at Nordstrom for teaching her how to deliver a superior level of professional personalized service with the goal of always striving to exceed her clients’ expectations.
Michelle’s event planning career began to blossom when she managed and operated annual events for such organizations as the Central California Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, the 1996 Atlanta Centennial Summer Olympic Games and as a production manager for the National Black Arts Festival for many years. She also worked as a wardrobe stylist for a well-known Los Angeles-based agency specializing in print media, album covers and music videos.
After a little over five years of proven experience as a freelance corporate event logistic manager for many national companies and as a wedding & social event planner Michelle realized that her true passion was in the event industry as a planner which was the catalyst for her own company, My Dreamz Eventz LLC . Michelle joined Fifth Group Restaurant and Bold Catering in 2009, serving in the capacity as an associate in the sales and planning department. Both companies positioned Michelle to hone her food and beverage knowledge as she partnered with many of the most innovative event creatives Atlanta has to offer.
Jamila Young was raised in Detroit, Michigan, alongside eleven brothers and sisters. Growing up in such a large family often demanded that a major part of her childhood was then focused on the celebration of birthdays, holidays, weddings and other occasions. As a result, from a very young age, Jamila developed a zeal for planning and celebrating the milestones of others. Following her passion has led Jamila into building a career as a seasoned event manager within the hospitality and event planning industry with the former My DreamzEventz LLC since 2014, a company founded in 2004 by veteran event planner, Michelle Harrison of Michelle Harrison Signature Event LLC.
Jamila has lived in the Atlanta area for over two decades working as a childcare professional. The demands of working in this capacity, has allowed Jamila to hone her skills as a detail oriented and flexible special events coordinator. She credits her ability to adapt to change and handle last minute challenges to the time she has spent raising the children of families who hired her as a trusted and responsible Nanny. This invaluable experience has served her well for over five plus years as she continues to create and manage premier unforgettable events (i.e. weddings, showers, birthday parties, corporate events and more) as a special events manger.
